Adar State

Adar State was one of the opposition's states of the so-called "Federal Republic of South Sudan" in the Upper Nile Region. Its flag was green with a white oval displaying an oil derrick.

This state was not an officially recognized state, being created after Riek Machar appointed a rebel governor against the central government. It is one of the 21 states he proposed, though not known which other states had rebel governments. The state itself appears to have disbanded in 2020 after the reintroducing of the 10 original states, though the government may function as the Adar Area government today. The state flag was a green field with the rebel state emblem in the center.

Emblem

The emblem is a white disc with blue details. It has, in its center, an oil derrick signifying a main source of wealth in the region. Just behind the oil derrick is an arrow, probably for struggle. Above the oil derrick is a squiggle, possibly hills to represent the environment.
