The coat of arms of Miguel Áleman was adopted during the term of Municipal President Alfonso Ramírez Guerra (1969-1971). It was designed by the teacher Sergio Froylán Higareda Sánchez; the process of adoption is unknown, as the municipal historian informs us. Covered by a mantle in red signifying the nobility of the municipality's founders, a shield is placed. This mantle is tied in its upper ends signifying adherence to its present and past. Under it is a ribbon in silver reading MUNICIPIO DE MIGUEL ALEMAN.
The border of the shield has three cacti on each side, the tribute of the uncultivated land, and the motto TRABAJO Y CONSTANCIA at the bottom [Work and Constance]. The orange color of the shield remembers the hot climate. On the mantle is a golden star signifying the path towards progress. In the center, over a silver area and scrolled to its sides, having agricultural tools such as a pick, shovel, and hammer. In the center of the silver area are five buds of cotton, products of work. A building is seen on each side of the Rio Grande in the lower part, having a bridge connecting both areas and serving as a representation of the United States/Mexico border. Over the cotton is a man, with the silver area following his hands into a Y shape, being bare-chested and having his back turned, as if to welcome the visitor and remembering the hard labor of agriculture, primary economic activity in the Municipality.
