Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, known more commonly as just "Popeyes," is a chain
of fast food chicken restaurants established in 1972 and headquartered in New
Orleans, Louisiana. The chain is known for its mild and spicy fried chicken and
its Cajun side dishes, and as of 2007 was the second-largest chicken fast food
chains by units sold, behind Kentucky Fried Chicken.
A new Popeyes
restaurant just recently opened locally and I often pass by it commuting to and
from work. I noticed this week that in addition to the American flag, the
restaurant has begun flying what I can only assume is the Popeyes corporate
flag.
The flag features the Popeyes corporate logo on a white field. The
logo itself has an orange capital "P" slightly offset in the center of a white
circle. The "P" is shadowed in burgundy and fimbriated in white. The white
circle is bounded in burgundy, bearing the word "LOUISIANA" arched across the
top in white, capital, serif letters, and the word "KITCHEN" arched across the
bottom in similar lettering. The words are separated by orange fleur-de-lis on
either side. Below the seal is the word "POPEYES" in orange capital lettering.
