The previous logo was adopted in October 2011. The public contest organized
by the provincial government from 18 April to 15 June 2011 yielded 407
proposals. The jury composed of eight members did not grant the first prize; a
second prize was granted to Ali İhsan İnçukur, from İstanbul, while a third
prize was granted to Engin Bozkurt, from Ankara.

Flag of Kırıkkale Province, two versions - Images by Tomislav Šipek, 11 May 2018
The flag of Kırıkkale Province (photos) is white with the province's emblem in the middle. "T.C." stands for "Türkiye Cumhuriyeti", "Republic of Turkey"; "Valiliği" means "Governorate".
The emblem features the Çeşnigir bridge. Originally built to cross river
Kızılırmak on the Ankara-Kırşehir road, the bridge is nowadays partially
submerged in the Kapulukaya Dam lake.
Although its exact date of building in unknown, the bridge is of the
13th century Seljuk style. In 1402, Timur's troops allegedly crossed it
when marching against Ankara. The bridge was rebuilt by the architect
Mimar Sinan during the Egyptian expedition led by Sultan Selim II
(1566-1574).
