State flag

Lakes State was re-established on 22 February 2020. The state flag depicts the state emblem over a blue field representing the bodies of water the state has. Underneath the emblem is a rectangle outlined in black reading LAKES STATE, also in black. These elements are outlined.

The current version of the emblem is a photograph contained in a circle, outlined in black-white-black. This photograph depicts a shoebill in front of a swamp, with some plants amongst the shoebill. Older versions appear to only have used the shoebill, not a photograph of one.

Variant flag

The old flag until 2015 used the same basic format found by Jaume Olle. It was the state emblem over white with WARRAP underneath it. The state emblem depicted an African fish eagle as the national bird over light blue.
