A description of the coat of arms, as shown in the Municipal Code:
ARTICLE 12 - The Official Coat of Arms of the Municipality of Asientos is described in the following manner:
In the upper part of the coat of arms, a lit torch is found, symbolizing everlasting liberty and the gift of knowledge. In the background, a contour of a map of the state appears, representing the identity of Aguascalientes and the identification of the municipality. At the front, marked in the interior of the coat of arms, appears a stylization of the gateway of Tepozán, in representation of the most linked constructions in the historic past of the municipality. Inside the mark, in the upper part is a blue stripe which crowns some hands bearing land in its crust and core, representing the characteristic activities of the municipality, agriculture and mining. The hands symbolize the work and union of the inhabitants. Below the hands appears an open book, symbolizing the constitutional bases which are given in article 115, the autonomy of the municipality. In the contour of the mark, the motto is written: Municipio Libre, gente noble, tenaz esfuerzo, futuro inmenso [Free Municipality, noble people, tenacious effort, immense future].
