Preface:
In April 2006 I met a nice guy, from "Alster-Ruder-Club Hanseat". He showed me the helmsman flag of his club. But that wasn´t all.
He also showed me a "flag-tree", that was a trophy that changes the owner every year. It was a mini-mast, having little paper-flags of every rowing-club in Hamburg.
I chose RA77 as my primary source but in case of differences I chose the flag-tree of course. Many of these flags are containing a modified coat of arms of the city of Hamburg.
The image I´tll call the Hamburg castle (gate with closed door and 3 towers, topped by either a cross or two 6-point stars).
Very special thanks to Ziad Zorgati from "Alster-Ruder-Club Hanseat" It was he, who showed me the flag tree and helped me to save a lot of time.
The flag is a white over red over white horizontal triband. In the centre of the flag is a red circle containing a white Hamburg castle which superimposes a pair of white crossed oars with the blade-pattern of the club. The circle has a white edge with a red fimbriation. On the edge is the black insription: "ALSTER RUDER VEREIN HANSEAT".

It is a white blade divided by a red horizontal stripe. It is a simplification of the club flag without the logo in the centre.
