It is a green-white-green vertical triband with ratio 1:3:1. The coat of arms without shield is filling the white stripe.

It was a red-yellow-blue vertical tricolour. In the yellow stripe and shifted to the top is the local coat of arms. The arms are surrounded by a black, embowed inscription "Neubukow" (above) and "Mecklenburg" (below). The colours of the stripes are those from the old flag of Mecklenburg.

Shield Argent, an eradicated beech Vert, in central chief an inescutcheon Or, charged with a bull's head caboshed Sable, crowned Or, armed Argent and tongued Gules.
Meaning:
According to source the beech tree is canting and the shield is symbolising the Dukes of Mecklenburg.

Flag and arms were approved on 27 September 1999 by Minister of Interior of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and published in the Municipal Roll of Arms Mecklenburg-Vorpommern as no.80. The banner is said to be used unofficially.
