Shield Or a horseshoe Sable, in base a 6-point star Sable.
Meaning:
A market town seal from 1765 dispalyed the inscription OMBTEN K A (= Kirchheimer Amts) and in a shield the initial "O" under a Württemberg antler, probably to distinguish it from Owen. The horseshoe first appeared in local seals of the village mayors since the 19th century. It is not sure, whether it was symbolising the rural character or it has simply been a symbol of luck. The star was added around 1930 without having a special meaning. Yellow and black, also the tinctures of Baden-Württemberg were adopted by the local council in 1952.
