Hranice flag

Hranice flag by Jarig Bakker, 5 Aug 2001

There is an erroneous vertical hanging flag of this town near Olomouce in eastern Czechya on this site. Its Coat of Arms is here.
Jarig Bakker, 9 May 2000.

The flag is horizontal, with the central diagonal running from bottom left to top right.
Jan Zrzavy, 13 May 2001

On this site is another (erroneous) flag. From the description I gather that the blue diagonal line stands for the river Bečva, which flows through Hranice in a broad bent. On the flag I sent previously the Bečva flowed from NW to SW (which is a fact in the eastern part of the town - on this one from NE to SW (which is the case in Western Hranice). This image is a mirror image of the previously reported one... The yellow color stands for Moravia and red for the hilly countryside.
Hranice (or in German: Mährisch Weisskirchen) was previously a Bezirkshauptmannschaft (district capital?).

Petr Exner, in Vexilologicky Lexikon prapori obci CR (1991-1994), has a flag with a much thinner blue diagonal stripe.
Jarig Bakker, 5 Aug 2001

The correct ratio of diagonal stripes of the flag of Hranice (CZ) is (red-yellow-blue-yellow-red) 4:3:1:3:4. Source - Petr Exner.
