An official on line document intitled Divisin Politico Administrativa y Sistema de Gobierno y Administracin says i.a. that each region is administered by an Intendente (I seem to recall that formerly Chilean regions were called departments.) It says also that each province is administered by a governor (Gobernador, exec.).
