Description of the flag

The Peace River Regional District now uses a different flag. It is white with the PRRD logo toward the hoist the full name on the rest and an irregular stripe of changing colors towards the hoist, top and the logo:

The second photo shows no stripe on the flag. I don't know why. Maybe it was added later?

In 2002, the Regional District received a suggestion from a member of the public that the Regional District create a flag to depict the Peace River region. Directors and staff came up with a design. The flag was adopted by the Regional Board in May 2002. The flag depicts the mighty Peace River (which flows through the region), the dove of peace, agriculture, forestry and the Rocky Mountains. Information and photo of the flag thanks to Suzanne Garrett, Corporate Services Coordinator.

The Regional District:
"The Peace River Regional District is the largest regional district in the province of BC encompassing a land mass of 1,999,483 hectares, with a population of 57,286 (2006 Census figures). Within the Regional District there are seven municipalities and four rural Electoral Areas."
