The municipality of Serranópolis do Iguaçu
Serranópolis do Iguaçu was 
established by State Law No. 11,218 promulgated on 7 December 1995, as the union 
of the districts of Jardinópolis and Flor de Serra, then part of the 
municipality of Medianeira.
The flag and arms of Serranópolis do Iguaçu 
are prescribed by Municipal Law No. 50 promulgated on 23 November 1998.
Article 3.
The flag of the municipality of Serranópolis do Iguaçu was 
designed by Cristiane Lāngaro, winner of the public contest initiated by Order 
No. 14 issued on 11 March 1997.
Article 4.
The municipal flag of 
Serranópolis do Iguaçu shall be rectangular, divided by three parallel, equal 
stripes, the outer one plant green and th central one yellow, charged in the 
center with a brown sphere inscribed with the white writing "Serranópolis do 
Iguaçu", in its center a smaller snowy white circle and two five-pointed yellow 
stars, emerging from the sphere four yellow and green greater points and four 
snowy white lesser points.
Article 5.
In compliance with heraldic 
norms, the municipal flag shall have the official dimensions prescribed for the 
national flag.
Article 6.
The elements and colors of the municipal 
flag have the following meaning.
I - Snowy white symbolizes peace between the 
two districts that united to form the municipality of Serranópolis do Iguaçu.
II - Plant green represents Iguaçu National Park, a 185,262.5 ha ecological 
reserve, greening fields and hope in profuse harvests.
III - Yellow 
represents the municipality's income, mostly relying on agriculture, represented 
by soybean and maize, the predominant crops.
IV - Brown symbolizes the main 
resource, the generous and fertile soil, main source of income and development 
for the municipality.
V - The stars symbolize the union of the two districts 
of Jardinópolis and Flor de Serra.
VI - The circle is moving Earth, including 
economy, society and politic.
VII - The white, green and yellow points 
running from the greater circle to the green and yellow parts symbolize peace, 
people's aspirations and resources boosting development.
